Safeguarding

The Bowls Development Alliance has published a Code of Conduct for the sport of Bowls to protect everyone in the sport and to ensure that everyone can enjoy the sport of bowls in a safe and inclusive environment. This  Code of Conduct is displayed in the clubhouse and can also be viewed 

 

Safeguarding, as defined by the NHS, means protecting a citizen’s health, wellbeing and human rights; enabling them to live free from harm, abuse and neglect.

 

Main Types of Abuse / Safeguarding Concerns are:

  • Sexual abuse and Child Sexual / Criminal Exploitation 

  • Physical abuse incl. domestic abuse 

  • Emotional abuse incl. bullying/harassment 

  • Neglect and self-neglect 

  • Discriminatory abuse 

  • Financial or Material abuse 

  • Radicalisation 

  • Forced Marriage, Honour Based Abuse & Female Genital Mutilation
